“Food for the Soul”: Artist Rebecca Stahr and Chef Jonathan Snell Pair Up For May Waukegan “Art Wauk”
Member Artist Rebecca Stahr and chef Jonathan Snell will be pairing up to offer a multi-sensory feast of art and food. The “Food for the Soul” exhibit will take place during the Waukegan “Art Wauk” on Saturday, May 21, 2016, 5-9pm at the Dandelion Gallery, 109 S. Genesee Street, Waukegan.
The opening will include the encaustic paintings of artist Rebecca Stahr along with chef Jonathan Snell who will be presenting a series of mini chef demos and food tastings that have been creatively curated for the opening. The event is complimentary and wine and appetizers will be served throughout the evening.
Rebecca Stahr is an artist living with her husband and son in conservation community surrounded by the beautiful native prairie of northern Illinois. Rebecca attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago where she graduated in 1992. After more than 20 years of working in the commercial art field and owning her own design firm, Rebecca is now a full time artist. She currently has work displayed in galleries in the greater Chicago and Milwaukee area as well as commissioned art in many private collections.
Jonathan Snell of Elgin, is an upcoming chef studying at the ECC Culinary Arts Program and is preparing for the possibility of studying abroad in Austria to continue his culinary education.
