Rent the Gallery

Looking for unique and creative venue for your event? The Dandelion Gallery is a artistic slate for a creative gatherings.  The gallery is 2500 sq feet of space with three movable walls. The outdoor deck overlooking the urban ravine and is a beautiful spot for a summer wedding.  The deck has 600 sq feet of space.   This intimate space is very versatile for day or evening events. 

  • Gallery is 2500 sq feet holds up to 125 people

  • Deck is 600 sq feet holds 100 people

  • Renters provide tables, chairs, and décor

  • Event hours can not extend no later than 9:00pm (clean -up until 10pm)

  • Parking lots are available on Water Street 

  • 50% deposit to hold the date

  • $125 Hourly rental rate 


  • Gallery staff on site to help with set-up and clean-up upon request, Fees apply.

  • Renter and/or renter's vendors are responsible for all other event set-up and breakdown of equipment. 

  • Rental rates do not include set-up or clean up by Dandelion staff. If the Licensee/Renter requires additional time to set-up or clean up additional fees may apply. It will be the Licensee/Renter’s responsibility to return the room and the grounds at Dandelion Gallery to the condition in which they were found per initial inspection. 

  • All additional fees accrued will be obtained at the end of the event after final inspection. 

  • All recycling and garbage must either be removed by the renter(s) vendors or bagged up and brought to outdoor receptacles provided.

  • Clean-up is the sole responsibility of the rental party. The premises must be left in same condition as upon arrival. Post-event, the renter is required to inspect the facility with gallery staff to ensure clean-up has been adequate and all personal belongings have been claimed. (The Dandelion Gallery is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.)

  • Charges will apply, if cleaning, and repairs are necessary.  All additional fees will be obtain at the end of the event. 


  • No material may be attached, affixed, tacked, stapled or taped on the walls, doors, or any part of the interior or exterior of the room(s). 

  • No materials that can damage any surfaces including floors, walls, windows, mirrors, and doors may be used.

  • Artwork can only be handled and touched by Gallery staff. 

  • Flower arrangements placed indoor need to be in a protective vase.  Flower petals maybe used on the deck but not in the gallery, however silk petals may be used (***Please note, they may be a slipping hazard and Dandelion Gallery will not be liable.) We recommend that silk petals are cleaned up after the ceremony. 

  • Candles may be used inside and outside as long as they are enclosed in glass and placed on sturdy surfaces. Unity candles may be used. 


  • A list of all vendors associated with your event (with name, address, and phone) is required 15 days prior to the event.  Proof of vendor insurance is required at that time.

  • Alcohol is permitted to be served at the Gallery to those over the age of 21.  If other than beer or wine is being served during the event, you must have a licensed bartender to serve alcohol in Waukegan.

  • The renter agrees to purchase an event liability insurance policy for bodily injury  and property damage for a minimum of $1,000,000 with a "Host Liquor Liability" policy.

  • The Dandelion Gallery must be listed as additional insured.  This can be purchased through your personal homeowner's or renter's insurance company.

  • A copy of the policy must be sent to the Dandelion Gallery no less than 15 days prior to the event. If this can not be attained, the Renter/ Licensee will be responsible for liabilities and incidents that may occur during the duration of the hosted event as Dandelion Gallery waives legal responsibilities. ​​​​

Rate & Deposit:

  • 50% of the rental fee is required to hold the date. $125 of it is non-refundable.  

  • Remaining Balance due 15 days before the event date. All cancellations must be given 45 days in advance before the event date or you will be charged the full amount. Deposit is fully refundable (minus the $125 non-refundable holding fee) if the event is canceled within 90 days, 50% within 61-89 days. 

  • Payments can be paid in cash,  check, or credit card.

  • A verified, valid credit card is required to be kept on file for the duration of the event to cover any un-reported accidental or non-accidental loss or damage to the gallery. Renter will be notified within 7 days after the event has occurred of any damages or losses observed. 

  • All additional fees acquired on the day of the event for setup, clean-up, late fee (past 10pm), and other services will be obtained at the end of the event after post inspection has been conducted.

No Smoking:

The gallery is designated as a "No Smoking Area."  Guests may smoke outside the gallery.  Guests must place their cigarette butts in appropriate disposal container.  If gallery staff must clean up cigarette butts, deposited by your guests, you will be charge a clean up rate of $100.


Parking at 109 S Genesee is street parking.  There is a large parking lot located just east of Genesee St on Water St. For larger groups, carpooling or valet service provided by the Licensee/Renter is recommended. 

Photo & Video Release Agreement: 

The Dandelion Gallery shall have the right to take photographs and video at events for the purpose of  advertising Dandelion Gallery. All rights to, and use of these images and videos shall belong to the Dandelion Gallery.  If Licensee/Renter has a guest(s) that is not willing to be photographed or recorded, it is the responsibility of the Licensee/Renter to notify Dandelion Gallery staff.
