Youth Art Exhibition
Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc. and its affiliates are delighted to offer youth artists the opportunity to participate in our annual Youth Exhibition Jan 18th - Feb 8th. All Medium and forms of art are welcome. This is about the youths creative experience, exploration and freedom to create and express themselves in any creative form. We will help liberate the youth artist by acknowledging and rewarding them with medicals and sponsored gifts.

Entries may include diorama, painting, drawing, digital (computer- generated art), printmaking, textile, sculpture, fabric craft, jewelry, photography, videography, ceramic, carpentry, mosaic, mix media, and wire artwork. The maximum size of artwork is not to exceed 16 inches x 20 inches including framing. The maximum size for 3D is 12 inches high x 15 inches wide/deep. All wall-art must be appropriately mounted and framed, complete with wire across the back for hanging. Artwork that does not comply with these show standards will not be accepted. If special equipment and/or programing is required it is the artist responsibility to provide the necessities to display as such. Performance Art are welcome and will be performed the day of the showcase event.

Visual Art Curating and Hanging: Jan. 12th, 2025. A responsible party of the institution, organization, or guardian is responsible for the handling, displaying, and hanging of the artwork and artwork tag (Name of artwork, medium, size, short description of the artwork) unless authorized by Dandelion Management.

Contest Rules:

Youth residing in Lake County, IL may submit one entry per person. The competition accepts entries in a diverse range of media, including drawing, painting, collage, photography, printmaking, ceramics, plaster, digital, diorama, mosaic, mis media, textile, and sculpture. Artwork may be two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Artwork must fit the theme "Hero."

Performing Artists including but not limited to (Acting, Reciting Poetry, Rhythm & Dance, Music) are also encouraged to participate and would need to upload a short video of such performance. Performance must fit the theme.

All artwork must be original and created by the artist. All visual artwork must have a completed entry tag secured to the upper right corner of its reverse side and must include the exhibitor’s name, short artist statement, title of entry, price or NFS (not for sale) listing, and media type.

Images of the artwork must be uploaded below for entry.

Entries that originate from copyrighted sources such as but not limited to Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, Pixar, etc., or celebrity images, will be disqualified. Historical figures and landmarks are acceptable. No AI produced art is accepted. We are looking for the artist to produce their own original artwork and/or performance enlighten by their free spirit.

Artwork should not contain anything explicit or harmful.

Artwork must not contain any inappropriate content or symbolism. Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc. and its affiliates reserve the right to exclude an entry if it is not acceptable as determined by Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc.

The entry deadline is Tuesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm.

Entries will be judged to exhibit by Dandelion Artist Alliance members.

Winners will be announced by Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Awards and Prizes:
All entries will be divided into three categories:

Junior Division (ages 5-13)
-
Senior Division (ages 14-17)
-
Special Division (ages 4-17)
Each entry will receive a gift, and Honorable Mentions. Senior Division is eligible for Gold, Silver and Bronze Trophies based off creativity, quality, and ability to meet basic criteria as stated above. ***There will be no single artwork chosen as the "Best in Show" overall.
All decisions by the judges are final. Dandelion Scholarship Program Awards cannot be transferred to another person and must be used in the year of 2025 towards classes, events, therapy, open studio time.
Our Community Sponsors and Mission Donors will be acknowledged for their support in helping us fulfill our mission to help serve youth artists in our community.
Publicity: Please check below to grant permission to use submitted work for promotion. If this is not checked, then artwork will not be considered for exhibition.
Not all entries will necessarily be online; Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc, will exercise discretion in determining which artworks to exhibit if given artist permission.
