A Beautiful World
Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc. and its affiliates are delighted to offer Lake County School Districts, Youth organizations, and Individual youth artists ages 5-18 the opportunity to participate in our Youth Exhibition Jan 14th - Feb 4th. Schools and Programs may enter up to one child per class and/or program no more than 10 pieces of artwork. Individual Youth Artists may also enter with the assistance of a guardian or mentor.

Entries may include painting, drawing, computer- generated art, printmaking, design, sculpture, fabric craft, jewelry, photography, videography, ceramic, carpentry, mosaic, mix media, wire artwork, etc.. The maximum size for artwork will be 16 inches x 20inches including framing. The maximum size for 3D is 12 inches high x 15 inches wide/deep. All entries must be appropriately mounted and framed, complete with wire across the back for hanging. Artwork that does not comply with these show standards will not be accepted.
Important dates of entry and celebration:
Entry Deadline: Dec 30th
Curating and Hanging: Jan. 8th -11th , 2023. A responsible party of the institution, organization, or guardian is responsible for the handling, displaying, and hanging of the artwork and artwork tag ( Name of artwork, medium, size, short description of the artwork).

A student residing in Lake County, IL may submit one entry. The competition accepts entries in a diverse range of media, including drawing, painting, collage, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture. Works may be two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Artwork must fit the theme "A Beautiful World."
Performing Artists including but not limited to (Acting, Performing, Reciting, Demoing) are also encouraged to participate and would need to upload a short video of such performance. Performance must fit the theme.
All artwork must be original and created by the student between January 1, 2022 – December 30, 2022. All artwork must have a completed entry tag secured to the upper right corner of its reverse side and must include the exhibitor’s name, short artist statement, title of entry, price or NFS (not for sale) listing, and media type.
Images of the artwork must be uploaded below for entry.
Entries that originate from copyrighted sources such as but not limited to Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, Pixar, etc., or celebrity images, will be disqualified. Historical figures and landmarks are acceptable. We are looking for the artist to produce their own original artwork and/or performance that reflects their own interpretation of "A Beautiful World."
Artwork should not contain anything explicit or harmful.
Artwork must not contain any inappropriate content or symbolism. Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc, reserves the right to exclude an entry if it is not acceptable as determined by Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc.
The entry deadline is Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11:59 pm.
Entries will be judged to exhibit by Dandelion Artist Alliance members.
Winners will be announced Friday, January 6, 2022.
Awards and Prizes:
All entries will be divided into three categories:
Junior Division (grades 5-8)
Senior Division (grades 9-12)
Special Needs Division (grades 5-12)
Each of the three categories will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner as well as multiple Honorable Mentions. There will be no single artwork chosen as the "Best in Show" overall. No entrant will receive more than one prize.
All decisions by the judges are final. Dandelion Scholarship Program Awards cannot be transferred to another person and must be used by 2024.
Publicity: Please check here to grant permission to use submitted work for promotion. If this is not checked, then artwork will not be considered for exhibition.
Not all entries will necessarily be online; Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios, NFP, Inc, will exercise sole discretion in determining which artworks to exhibit.
