Artist Statement
"I am Theater artist with a passion for writing historical fiction and directing/staging theatrical productions. I also have an invested interest in bringing Art awareness to the community.
Gloria Terry is an accredited Playwright, Actor, and Director who currently resides in Zion IL. She is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago where she earned her B.A in Creative Writing. She was last seen on stage at the Genesee Theater where she performed as Lady in red in Ntozake Shange's For Colored Girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf. Gloria is also the founder of Soul Live Productions, a theater organization located in Zion Illinois. She is an avid writer of historical fiction, she is active in community theater, and has written, produced, and directed several plays within the Lake and Cook County areas. Most memorable performances include “Who is Jane Peters?” a 1960's drama that tells the story of discrimination in the segregated south “ Left Alone” a play about a woman who is overcome by bitterness, and Silent Waters, a tragic tale about a family struggling to hold together in the face of Hurricane Katrina." - Gloria Terry
