Pablo Picasso once remarked, “Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions.”  Must see Michael Mc Conville featured art exhibition, "The Language of Color in Art" The Laws & Principles of Color Theory is as a vibrant and dynamic exhibit of art that embodies a language with its own vocabulary, structure, grammar, dialects, and even slang. It continually evolves and adapts to new ideas and influences. This exhibition serves as a visual representation of the intricate vocabulary, structure, and grammar of color.

Edvard Munch aptly expressed, "The colors live a remarkable life of their own after they have been applied to the canvas."

The exhibition will explore the laws and principles of color theory a visual art exploration using  Shibori, a dye resist technique that symbolizes twisting or wringing, to visually convey concepts such as Hue/Chroma (the color's origin and purity), Saturation (the strength or weakness of a color), Tint (the addition of white to a color), Tone (the addition of gray to a color), Shade (the addition of black to a color), and the distinction between Warm Colors and Cool Colors.

Moving on to the grammar and structure of color, Batik, a wax resist process using wax and dye, will be employed to illustrate concepts such as Monochromatic (using a single color with various tints, tones, and shades), Complimentary Colors (pairing two colors opposite each other on the color wheel with their respective tints, tones, and shades), Analogous Colors (three colors adjacent on the color wheel with their tints, tones, and shades), Triad Colors (three colors equally spaced on the color wheel with their tints, tones, and shades), Cool Colors (comprising half the colors on the color wheel with their tints, tones, and shades), and Warm Colors (comprising the other half of the colors on the color wheel with their tints, tones, and shades).

In the words of Marc Chagall, "All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites."
